T for True Love
Like a green shoot poking through the fertile soil
To turn into a fragrant flower or to wither away
Tentative is love
Like the first rays of sunshine in the morning
An awakening of spirits, a dawning awareness
Tempting is love
Like a forbidden fruit dangling just out of reach
Ripe for plucking, but in someone else’s garden
Tenacious is love
Like a vine clinging to the last vestiges of hope
Not giving up despite the howling, shaking winds
Torturous is love
Like a self-inflicted barefoot walk over hot coals
Afire with desire, burning from the inside out
Tested is love
Like a bridge walked upon by many to cross over
To lands of unknown pleasures and battle fields
Terrible is love
Like cancer crawling through the body, stealthy silent death
Invading and infesting, crippling when left to its own devices
Tormenting is love
Like a mirage shimmering on the horizon in the desert heat
Full of promises never to be fulfilled and words left unspoken
Taunting is love
Like a fair maiden gazing down longingly from the balustrade
Of a fortified castle, with high walls that cannot be scaled
Trusting is love
Like the young bird spreading its wings for its first flight
Soaring high with its heart full of joy and determination
True is love
Like the earth eternally revolving around the sun
Sure and timeless like the laws of Mother Nature
